1. Explore the Iconic Melbourne CBD: Melbourne is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with an eclectic mix of old and new. From iconic laneways, bustling street markets, and world-renowned restaurants, to boutique shopping, and cultural attractions, the city has something for everyone. The best way to explore it all is by taking a guided walking tour of the city.
2. Go to the Australian Open at Melbourne Park. The tournament is held in January each year, over two weeks, and attracts some of the best professional tennis players from around the world. The Australian Open offers a range of activities to enjoy outside of the tournament, including the AO Live Stage, AO Ballpark, AO Playground and AO Festival.
3. Take a train down to the Brighton Bathing Boxes. There are 82 distinctive, colorful bathing boxes located on Brighton Beach only a short train ride from Melbourne CBD. Built well over a century ago in response to seaside bathing, the bathing boxes remain almost unchanged. All retain classic Victorian architectural features with timber framing, weatherboards and corrugated iron roofs, though they also bear the hallmarks of individual licencees' artistic and colourful embellishments. Find your favourite box and take a picture.
