Discover The Sunshine Coast, Australia



I can honestly say the sunshine coast was one of my favorite places in Queensland Australia. Fortunately we were able to spend about a month in this area so we saw so many different places! From our time spent in "Sunny Coast" here are my MUST dos when visiting for many reasons. Mainly the atmosphere, beaches and food are unforgettable.


1. Noosa Heads

Noosa Heads is a popular tourist destination on the Sunshine Coast and is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. It has a vibrant café, restaurant and bar culture and offers a range of activities including surfing, swimming, sailing and more.  

Top 3 things to do!:

 1. Explore Noosa National Park – Take a scenic walk or bike ride through the Noosa National Park, home to some of the most stunning beaches and wildlife on the Sunshine Coast.  

2. Enjoy a Shopping Spree – Shop till you drop at the various shopping districts in Noosa Heads. Enjoy a variety of boutique stores, restaurants, cafes, and bars.  

3. Visit the Noosa Main Beach – Noosa Main Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Relax, swim, or try your hand at surfing. 



Mooloolaba

Mooloolaba is another popular tourist destination on the Sunshine Coast and is known for its stunning beaches, restaurants, shops and activities. This area is more for relaxing and shopping and dining with tons of fusion resturants owned by chefs from all over the world, but is also a popular spot for swimming, surfing and fishing.


Our Top 3 Things To Do In Mooloolaba are:

 1. Mooloolaba Beach: One of the best things to do in Mooloolaba is to spend some time at the beautiful Mooloolaba Beach. This beach is renowned for its stunning views of the Pacific Coast, as well as its crystal clear waters and white sands. Whether you want to go for a swim, take a leisurely stroll, or just soak up the sun, Mooloolaba Beach is the perfect spot to do it.  

2. Mooloolaba Spit: Another great activity to do in Mooloolaba is to visit the Mooloolaba Spit. This is a man-made park that was built to protect the natural environment of the area. Here you can find a variety of stunning views of the ocean, as well as a range of different activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, and fishing. We recommend visiitng Rockliff Seafoods while you're down that way for some fresh prawns and oysters straight off the boat!  

3. Underwater World: The third best thing to do in Mooloolaba is to visit the Underwater World. This is one of the largest aquariums in the country, and it is home to more than 5,000 different species of sea life. Here you can explore the depths of the ocean and get up close and personal with sea turtles, sharks, and other fascinating creatures 

4. Eat at Rice Boi. When I say i absolutely would book a 40 hour flight from the US just to eat lunch here I am not kidding. You MUST book your trip to Mooloolaba just to eat here.



Eumundi

Eumundi is a small town on the Sunshine Coast and is known for its traditional markets, galleries and cafes. It is home to the famous Eumundi Markets which has everything from hommage sweet treats, meats, jewelry to street performers and live music, and is a great place to explore and experience the local culture. WE spent the whole day exploring these markets and tried food i never even knew existed!

 1. Visit the Eumundi Markets: Eumundi Markets are Queensland's largest and most popular markets, located in the historic town of Eumundi. Operating since 1979, the markets offer a great mix of art, craft, jewelry, beauty products, local produce, vintage and retro items, and much more. There are over 500 stalls and carts with unique souvenirs, so grab a bite to eat, and soak up the local atmosphere.  

2. Explore the Local Art Scene: Eumundi is home to a thriving art community, and there are plenty of galleries, studios, and workshops to explore. In particular, the Eumundi Art Gallery showcases a range of local and international artworks, and a range of classes are available for those wanting to learn more about the creative process.  

3. Enjoy the Great Outdoors: Eumundi is located in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, so it's a great place to enjoy the great outdoors. Take a short drive over to Mount Coolum and hike up it for an amazing view of the coastline.



Maleny

Maleny is a small town on the Sunshine Coast, located in the hinterland. It is known for its beautiful countryside and lush green landscapes, as well as its many galleries and craft stores. As we were driving through we saw wild kangaroos lounging but dont get too close to them.

 1. Visit the Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World: This top attraction in Maleny is a must-see for nature-lovers. The gardens feature a huge variety of plants, trees, and flowers, plus a large bird sanctuary, complete with waterfalls, aviaries, and over 500 species of birds. Get up close and personal with some of the birds, or take a self-guided tour of the gardens and learn about the local flora and fauna.  

2. Explore the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve: Located just outside of Maleny, this 55-hectare reserve offers stunning views of the Glass House Mountains and the Sunshine Coast. Walk the easy-to-navigate trails and spot native wildlife, or visit the nearby Discovery Centre and learn about the local environment.  

3. Check out the several wineries in and around Maleny, including Flame Hill Vineyard, Cedar Creek Estate Winery, and Maleny Mountain Wines. All three offer tastings, tours, and experiences, as well as stunning views of the Sunshine Coast.   



Kings Beach

Kings Beach is a popular beach on the Sunshine Coast, located in Caloundra. It is known for its beautiful white sand, crystal clear waters and stunning views of the Glass House Mountains. with tons of water sports and shore activities this beach is the place to go for some fun activity.

 1. Kings Beach: Kings Beach is a stunning beach located in Caloundra. It is a great spot for swimming, surfing and fishing. There are plenty of facilities on the beach, including toilets, showers, picnic tables, a kiosk and BBQ areas. You can also find a number of shops and cafes nearby. It's a great spot for a family day out.  

2. Bulcock Beach: Bulcock Beach is another popular spot in Caloundra. It's a great place for swimming, surfing, fishing and exploring the rock pools. You can also find a range of shops, cafes and restaurants in the area.  

3. Caloundra Street Fair: The Caloundra Street Fair is held every Sunday from 8am - 1pm in the centre of Caloundra. It's a great way to spend a Sunday, with lots of stalls selling local produce, crafts, and live music. You can also find some great restaurants, cafes and bars in the area.
